Lifesize 45 inch Twilight Sparkle Plush Preview by DoubleBackstitchArts Lifesize 45 inch Twilight Sparkle Plush Preview by DoubleBackstitchArts
Twilight here is made from minky, with a combination of embroidering and applique work for her cutie marks and eyes/lashes. She has minimal wire reinforcement to her tail (really nothing's keeping that thing up!) and plastic in her ears and hooves to give them shape. She cannot stand on her own, needing support under her tail, belly, and head for extensive posing due to her sheer size. She weighs something to the effect of 20 lbs, and is 45 inches tall, hoof to crown. This makes her life-sized, fully 1:1 scale.

She was made as a commission, and is not for sale. I am not currently available for commission work, but please do check back again some time, or give me a watch to keep an eye out for when I'm next open!
_____

Wow! It's just over a year ago that I made my first and only other life-sized pony fav.me/d5n3lva . Feels like a lifetime ago, what with two name changes and so many revisions to my patterns. I moved over a thousand miles, I dropped out of college and got a "real job" and I even quit plushing for the longest time. So the only two lifesizers I've yet made mean lots to me. And they both were bought by the same crazy dude who has all the plush ponies, Mr. wilshirewolf! Excuse me for a moment while I be all sentimental.

XD Happens to all of us. I listed what ponies I do have and what size they are in my reply on the other Twi, and like I said usually I won't have any onhand just to sell. I prefer to work on a commission basis so that the customer can get their plush personalized exactly how they want.

Welp thanks for giving me my daily dose of diabetes. But seriously though this is like a dream come true to see something like this. I hope you'll be open for commissions soon, I would sell many a gaming consoles and games for a work of art like this.

Heh heh heh. I know Twily kept me awake... hogging all the darn blankets. Kicked her royal rump out of my too-small bed. Luckily the customer has bigger bed than me XD

Like... wow. Lots? At /least/ two and a half yards of lavender for her body. I know I got a full yard of navy for her mane and tail... maybe a yard and a half? And a yard of pink and one of purple. To my recollection. I may be off a bit XD

One cannot blossom as a plushcrafter on size alone. Focus on honing your skills, and in time the renown will come. That's what I tell myself anyway XD

Shooooshooshooshoo.sh. Don't tell yourself that. Your work has been improving, that much is clear! Take it one step at a time. Mastery doesn't come in an instant. Adequacy is even hard to reach reasonably quickly, often. One step at a time. My girls need soooooo much work, it's not even funny XD I just need to put the time into improving them. Easier said than done! Feel free to note me if you've got anything you think I could help on. I love to help ^ ,^

Comparing your own work to others' is only useful for trying to figure out ways to make your work like theirs. It can help, but sometimes it can detract from your own stylings. For ages, I'd see other plushies and think similarly about mine. You have to realize that if you enjoy your work, that's what matters. You plush for the plush. Not for being the best, or for being famous. You do it because you love it, and you love making people's lives happier with pony, or whatsoever you make. You have fun, and over time you work to make your own ponies better. Because you can have fun trying to get better. Figuring out what makes your pattern work better, or a new method of getting the cutie mark and eyes on straighter, or how to make the mouth really perfect! Not to make it as good as whitedove, or as good as Nazegoreng, or as good as ziz-zas or whomever you might see out there. Your ponies are your own. I'll never be able to make them like you do. Nor will anyone else. Not just like you do them. Even as they are, they are unique and beautiful, loved as they are. Don't be so negative, it will only hurt your heart.

You yourself- of course. You're a force to be reckoned with! But the relation is I to you, not in a general sense. Am I no longer your sensei? Maybe my pride has blinded me. So it will be. You've had your final lessons from me. I'll knock off the "master" "sensei" nonsense.

Rejoice, Naze-kouhai. You are now allowed to call me senpai. ~ ,^
